Ashikaga Yoshimasa―The grandson of Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu―built his villa Higashiyamaden here.
After his death only the Togudo (National treasure) is remained. Togudo is the beginning of Shoin style Tea House and here you can enjoy Wabi and Sabi.
