Nanzenji Temple was build across the wide temple ground.
Sanmon ―the temple gate― is one of the famous place which come on the scene of kabuki “Romon Gosan-no-kiri”. The dialogue of the hero, Ishikawa Goemon―“Zekkei kana, Zekkei kana.”― which meas “What a view! What a view!” is called from the top of this sanmon.
